Guided background ski trips in the Chics-Chocs mountains.
Vertigo Aventures is a non-profit cooperative run by a board of directors composed of passionate guides and clients. Since 2002, its team has been organizing backcountry skiing trips in the Chic-Choc Mountains, and Vertigo is a proud member of Aventure Écotourisme Québec. The company offers its expeditions in two distinct areas, carefully selected and developed in collaboration with its partners, from mid-January to mid-April.
Mont Blanc Sector
The Mont Blanc domain, located 450 km from Québec City in the heart of the Réserve faunique de Matane, is a vast massif rising over 1,000 meters in elevation. In addition, three other mountains complete this simply incredible skiable area. Established in 2002, Mont Blanc is our home, our "Chez Soi." We know every corner, every tree, and every snowflake. The site welcomes two groups at a time, with little chance of crossing paths. Oh, and as a little bonus, we’ve installed a sauna for après-ski relaxation.
Mont Paul Sector
The Mont Paul domain, 100 km farther east in Parc national de la Gaspésie, ranks among the best backcountry skiing destinations in Eastern Canada. The incredible terrain of Mont Paul and its surroundings is a true snow magnet. With the surrounding peaks reaching nearly 1,000 meters in elevation and ideal geography, this area is a safe bet for consistently perfect powder conditions. Plus, the terrain is INSANE! All our guides agree—this is the most playful skiing terrain we’ve ever experienced in the Chic-Chocs. At Mont Paul, you feel like you're the only ones in the world. What’s magical about this area is that we still discover new runs every year.
