Les Méchins is a village born between the Saint Lawrence River and nearby woods. The municipality is internationally known due to its shipyard, Verreault Navignation, one of the few led by a woman. Follow the crane and you will surely find the yard where you can marvel over the day-to-day operations of this giant maritime industry.
This wonderful blend of sea, mountains and woods offer plenty of attractions to visitors. During summer, you can hike, fish or even play petanque by the shore. If you prefer marine activities, you can enjoy kit-surfing, sailing or sea kayaking. If you prefer to stay grounded, you can walk or ride an ATV on various trails and stop along the way to gather mushrooms or berries. During the fall, many Méchinois start hunting in the nearby woods, rich in prey. During winter, you can discover the landscape, with feet strapped in snowshoes or sitting on a snowmobile.
Les Méchins has a rich historic heritage, including a few century-old houses.
