Boarding the Saint Lawrence River and located 70 kilometres away from Rimouski, Baie-des-Sables is a gateway village towards the Gaspésie (Gaspé Peninsula). Its parish is founded in 1869, taking its name from the sand full coast. Its location, in proximity to the regional Mont-Joli airport, the Matane-Baie-Comeau-Godbout ferry, the Reford Gardens and three golf courses, makes it a destination of choice.
Baie-des-Sables is also known for its architectural heritage. Its huge bell tower, seen from afar, guides travelers. Its dock and beautiful houses give the village great charm and make it stand proudly.
In this village, sea, earth and mountains live in harmony, in a diverse backdrop that helped define the population. The proud citizens mustered all their ingenuity to develop sustainable resources accessible in their environment. Sea birds, whales and seals consider it heaven. This village awakens artistry, makes souls vibrate with its wonderful sunrises and sunsets, and fills our noses with its salty sea breeze.
