Self-hardening clay is a type of clay that does not require firing. It dries on its own due to the binder incorporated into this ceramic paste. Kneading it and exposing it to the air triggers the hardening process of the clay. Come meet multidisciplinary sculptor artist, Francine Ménard, a specialist in visual arts and instructor during the workshops that will be offered at the Matane Lighthouse on two days, Saturdays, April 13th and 20th (offered only in French). Both workshops will be 5 hours long, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please bring your lunch!
The price to attend both workshops is $40 per person. Materials will be provided: self-hardening clay, tools, and other materials at your disposal. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to:
- Get an overview of kneading, shaping, and modeling techniques;
- Explore the material to create a mask and a figurative or abstract head;
- Make a sculpture... understanding the third dimension.
